Belfort: Politics Not Merit Earn UFC Title Shots | UFC NEWS

“There’s not much I can say about what qualifies you for a shot at the title in the UFC. It hasn’t been happening much by merit, but by politics. I can’t answer you that. The one who can is Dana White. I just do my job, which is to fight and win. My right is to train and represent my country.”
MMA Legend, Vitor Belfort, takes to ESPN to express his beliefs on how the UFC offices choose title challengers for their divisional champs to face.
Is politics really the reasoning behind guys like Chael Sonnen facing off with Jon Jones?

That’s honorable that Vitor will admit he didn’t deserve the title shots he got.
How else do losers like Sonnen stay relevant? Ratings may be a better label than politics. Either way it is sad to see fighters overlooked because they don’t behave belligerently on camera. SMDH
