Bedford vs. Denis Booked For UFC on FOX 3

Two bantamweights have agreed to square off on an already deeply stacked UFC on FOX 3 event set to take place in May.

Ultimate Fighter alum, Johnny Bedford and Nick Denis have agreed to square off on the evenings preliminary card.

UFC officials took to twitter to announce the bout yesterday afternoon.

UFC on FOX 3 is set to take place in New Jersey from the IZOD Center in East Rutherford on May 5. In the main event lightweights Nate Diaz and Jim Miller will throw down in a five-round non-title fight.

Bedford hasn’t seen action since his TUF 14 finale victory over the much smaller Louis Gaudinot. Johnny, who is 7-1 in his last 8 fights, was originally scheduled to make an appearance on the UFC on FOX 2 event against Mitch Gagnon but Gagnon’s inability to obtain a Visa kept this bout off the card.

Denis is a Canadian based fighter who made his UFC debut recently during the UFC on FX 1 card. In his debut fight against Joseph Sandoval he used some really intense standing elbows to drop his opponent and finish him in the very first round; it was a rare site and an impressive one. He is now 4-1 in his last five professional contests. (Continue to next page for the Editors Breakdown on this fight.)

Johnny Bedford is pretty good. I’d like to see him fight someone his own size this time. Other than that this card is really good and has the chances of being the best UFC on Fox to date.
