Renan Barao in an interview with TATAME.
Barao comments on his July 7th bout against Urijah Faber for the Interim Title.
“My preparation is the best possible. I’m thrilled. My training is very intense, strong and what changed was the game plan.”
On when he found out he would be fighting for the title.
“I knew it at that time. Pederneiras hasn’t comment with me, he told me we were going to Las Vegas to sign some things and solve some contract issue. When I was there I heard I was fighting for the belt.”
On his game plan for Faber.
“I can’t tell you my game plan (laughs). I’m training and very focused. I’m sure it will all work out just fine. I always have a surprise coup. I intend to use it this time.”
On getting the chance to fight for the title.
“We’ve been working for years to get this chance, which is to become a champion. Thank God I’m having this chance and I’m going to embrace it.”
On nerves when entering the octagon to face Faber for the interim title.
“I’m going to be fine. I’m focused, training 100 percent. Of course you get nervous, but it’s normal and we know how to handle it. God will help me to be the best man I can in there and put on a great show.”

Ooooh this is gonna be good!!!
This will be a war. Cant wait for this card
How in the hell can a 145 pound man be so scary, I don’t know. That being said, Barao is one scary ass bantam weight. Would like to see Faber hold the belt one more time, but I don’t see him being able to win this
135lb brother!
Yeah, my bad. Still got a little Memorial Day alcohol in my system… I guess that makes him even scarier!
Barao has it all. I think he should run right through Faber, but then again I thought Barbosa would run through Varner as well…So I might be wrong this time too…
That’s a thought that is lingering in the back of my mind as well.
Faber and his butt chin will get destroyed along with the UFC’s dream of having a marketable 135 lbs champion.
Faber is better than ever. It’ll be interesting to see if he can handle Barao. He couldn’t even handle Cruz.
Faber and Cruz’s fight was very close. I thought Faber won it.
You’re right. It was close but that’s the problem. You can’t have close fights when you’re fighting for the belt.
unless you are the champ.. Cruz..
LMFAO!!! Brilliant shit man!
War all day every day Faber, get that shit done!!
all aboard the barao hype train.
people should look at his record and see just how mediocre his competition has been. i dont even like faber but hes got this. i really wanna see cruz put a beatdown on faber
I don’t want to see faber Cruz 3 so I’m going for barao, I’m tired of faber losing in a title fight then fighting one more time before the shot
