Attonito out, Story to Fight Abedi at UFC on FX 4
Tuesday was a busy day for the UFC match-makers, after the recent news of Yoshihiro Akiyama being pulled from his fight against Thiago Alves due to injury. We also learn that Rich Attonito has also acquired an injury and is unable to compete against fellow welterweight Rick Story at UFC on FX 4.
Story has been informed that his new opponent comes in the form of very scrappy Papy Abedi. The two will face off on June 22nd in Atlantic City, N.J.
Rick Story (13-5) is approaching the match as somewhat of a must win, after dropping back to back fights. He was upset against the Spaniard Charlie Brenneman who took the fight on short notice and beat Story at a UFC Live event. He was also beat by solid welterweight contender Martin Kampmann via decision at UFC 139.
Abedi (8-2) is also a recipient of consecutive losses and is looking to bounce back against Story. Following a disappointing outing against Brazilian Thiago Alves, Abedi was also beat by rear naked choke against Oklahoma City product James Head.
Both guys are desperately in need of a win, not only to gain some confidence but possibly even to hang on to a job.
The fight is on the undercard of a lightweight main event match up hosting the always entertaining Clay Guida up against Gray “The Bully” Maynard. The slots are scheduled for the UFC on FX 4 event at the Revel.

Oooh I think Rick Story is stupidly going to try and brawl with Abedi and get TKO’ed.
I doubt it. Remember when he fought Thiago Alves? Could be a similar strategy.
