Arlovski Calls Out Cormier | Strikeforce News

“I’m getting a lot of tweets about fighting (Daniel Cormier).  And if the fans want to see it, I’m sure we can make it happen!”

Arlovski’s deleted his original tweet from his page.  An out pour of  encouragement and support floods his twitter account in response.

The heavyweight division is in trouble when any of its members are injured.  Leave it up to the “pit bull” Andre Arlovski to step up and ask for a fight with the power house Cormier.  A band aid if you will to the thin layer of fighters at heavyweight. A great competitor that will fight any where any time is always welcome.

  1. ballsackface says:

used to love this guy, but cormier would dismantle him 1st round

  2. Donovan says:

Arlovski is no slouch, but I think Cormier is one of the best HW out there and a future title holder….Cormier would make easy work of him.

  3. Bjohn says:

Arlovski’s chin isn’t what is used to be. It seems like his button has been pushed to many times.

  4. What? says:

I like arlovski but yeah his chin…he still is very fast and strong tho. I dunno I still would want to see this happen

  5. Dick Diaz says:

i’d rather see the Werdum fight…

  6. stephen riddle says:

I wouldnt mind it, andre looks like he got his swag back.

  7. ? says:

how is that calling out cormier?

  8. pthance says:

They don’t allow soccer kicks in the UFC….

  9. Mike b says:

    Arlovski will get ko’d….AGAIN.

  10. Pancho says:

I’d like to see this one. Arlovski’s the man!

  11. stephen riddle says:

Hey what if the maniac got this shot like he was going to? Andre would have the odds better.

  12. Brent says:

    Make it happen!!!!

  13. DMAC says:

I’m down for this or Werdum, why not make them both happen. DC only has a hand full of fights they need to keep him active.

  14. 223 says:

A move of desperation for Mr Arlovski!!!

    • CMUSMC says:

More like suicide. Not even a fair competition. 3 minutes would be a generous estimation with pitbulls chin. No doubt Andre can box with the best but he will get hit and he hasn’t looked good since Fedor beat the chin off of him.

  15. Ireezy says:

Fuck this, I have already bought tickets to this event and there is no way in hell I am going to this show to watch washed up ass Arlovski, or any other 3rd rate fighter. Werdum sounds like a good opponent at this point. As long as its somebody in the UFC I’ll be fine.

  16. TheNextOne says:

Cormier’s not that good from what we’ve seen, people need to stop overrating this guy, seriously. I personally think if Cormier tried to stand with Arlovski that he would get knocked out. Arlovski might not have the best chin, but his technical boxing would work Cormier’s basics. Either way, it’s the perfect gauge to see if A) Arlovski can still compete against top competition without getting KOed, AND B) if Cormier can deal with good striking, as he it outclassed with the technical striking, but could KO Arlovski with a halfway decent power punch.

    • dogfart says:

you say that but brett rogers is slow and stupid yet he knocked out arlovski in no time too.
his last fight with tim silvia looked messy as hell

he was the man back in the day, he should leave it alone now though. i dont like to watch former greats unravel and ruin what legacy they had

    • Keep Fitch (Forever) says:

You sir are an idiot. Cormier is a stud. You mustve missed him completely owning Josh Barnett, and Bigfoot. Barnett is one of the best HWs in the world. A stupid steriod issue has kept him out of the limelight. Cormier is by far the best wrestler in MMA, hes quick as a LW, and has some serious KO power. Do some research TARD

  17. Murphy says:

I want to see him fight someone at least ranked in the top 10 of the UFC heavy weight division to see how good he really is. I think werdum would definetly be a really good challenge for him. If he fights arlovski and beats him no one is going to care and if he lost to him then that wouldn’t look so good for him going into the UFC

  18. Xaninho says:

    He’s a warrior. I don’t know about his chances though…

  19. joe MAC says:

this guys tags an over weight knock kneed giant and all of a sudden he’s trying to step up to cormier. Cormier could double leg him into submission.

  20. Ddddddd says:

I don’t think Arlovski could be technical enough to deal with Cormiers level of athleticism. I’m a fan of Arlovski but i can
see with my bad eye that Cormier is a freak
of nature. This guy isn’t overrated he will
kick an a$$. It would be interesting to see how
Cormier did against Werdums reach considering how well he used it against Roy.

  21. thebully84 says:

Going from Mir to arlovski? No gotta keep it higher ranked especially if Cain doesn’t get past jds. They have to be able to market Cormier vs jds

  22. Frankie says:

Why am I looking at a picture of Leonadis from 300?

  23. gouldx87 says:

Everyone comments on Arlovski’s weak chin, if you take a step back and look at the situations in which he gets knocked out his Defense is the major problem. Anyone who takes big shots at heavy weight is going to sleep those men are HUGE and full of power. Arlovski consistantly blocks punchs with his face he doesnt use good head movement or footwork to avoid taking shots. I agree that his chin is pretty much gone but if he utilized a bit more defense in his striking he would do better in fights then he has. Also his game plans are poop, he fights from terrible spots in the cage.
