Aoki Says Family Keeps Him From The UFC, Confirms Eddie Alvarez Rematch In The Works

“If I didn’t have a family, then I would go to the UFC right now. However, I have a family. MMA in Japan is a complicated situation. It’s not in my control.”

“Yes, I will fight [Eddie Alvarez] next year. I am looking forward to it.”

Japanese superstar Shinya Aoki recently had a chat with the good guys over at mmaweekly.com and talked about a host of topics. Most intriguing was his desire to fight in the UFC and his willingness to give Eddie Alvarez a rematch next year. (Someone who he beat via heel hook in 2008)

Aoki is one of the very last remaining top 10 fighters not fighting for the UFC and/or Strikeforce and from the sounds of it; he may not ever make the jump across the pond to prove his ranking valid.
