UFC NEWS – Anthony Njokuani vs. John Makdessi In The Works For UFC 145

According to UFC officials, lightweights Anthony Njokuani and John Makdessi have verbally agreed to meet at UFC 145 this March, as the promotion made the announcement earlier today.

Njokuani is coming off a split decision loss to Danny Castillo just a few weeks ago at UFC 141, as Castillo was able use his wrestling pedigree to earn himself the decision win. John Makdessi is also coming off a loss, as he suffered his first career MMA loss to Dennis Hallman at UFC 140 via rear naked choke. Without a doubt, both of these hard hitting lightweights will be looking to display their superior striking skills, and rebound from their most recent performances.

UFC 145 takes place March 24th from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec Canada, although no main event has been set at this time. Stay tuned to BJPenn.com for more updates on the UFC 145 card.

5 Comments to UFC NEWS – Anthony Njokuani vs. John Makdessi In The Works For UFC 145

  1. Soguhm says:

Not really sure if this fight is in Makdessi’s best interest. He’s at a big disadvantage with his height/size/reach and Njokuani is no slouch standing up. Stylistically a bad matchup for Makdessi.

Also, the article says Makdessi was coming off a decision loss, then points out that he lost by rear naked choke.

  2. Xaninho says:

Njokuani got robbed. Stupid judges gave the win to Castillo with his boring lay n pray wrestling.

    • Ninja Oreo Dollop says:

Njokauni was getting dominated whether it was by lay and pray of not. He should have finished the exhausted Danny when he had the chance… Several chances.

  3. Xaninho says:

That isn’t domination. Laying on top without going for submissions or ground n pound shouldn’t be rewarded like that. Njokuani did way more damage than the humper.

    • With the MMA rules the way they are Castillo won that fight. Also, give him credit he took the fight on short notice. He would win more decisevely with a full camp. Oh and this matchup is awesome i got Makedessi FTW his KO over Watson was top 5 of all time for me.
