Anderson Silva out until 2012 with shoulder injury

As he announced in the UFC 134 aftermath Anderson Silva had suffered from a shoulder injury that required pain medicine prior to his bout with Yushin Okami.
That injury will reportedly keep the pound-for-pound greatest fighter in the world out of action until next year.
MMAFighting.com got the scoop from Silva manager, Ed Soars:
Anderson Silva’s injured shoulder will most likely keep him out until early 2012, Silva’s manager Ed Soares informed MMA Fighting on Saturday night.
Silva injured his shoulder in training for his UFC 134 fight against Yushin Okami last month, which he won via second-round TKO. There was some fear within his camp that he would have to undergo surgery, but Soares said Silva will simply need rehab to heal it.

I rarely hear of Anderson Silva’s injuries keeping him out of the octagon. Hopefully he recovers fully.
