Anderson Silva Eyes Six More Years Of Fighting Before Retirement | UFC NEWS

“I guess you can see more like six years of fighting. I love what I do. The team that works with me does a fantastic job. I’ve never had a serious injury that took myself away from competition. So I think I have this a little while longer.”
In an interview with Brazilian newspaper, estadao.com.br, UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva lets the public know that retirement isn’t coming anytime soon.
While he is currently the most dominant UFC fighter in history, will the pound-for-pound elite be able to keep his reign going for another six straight years?

I love Anderson as a fighter and as a person but I’d hate to see him fight for another six years? What is there left to do? He has all the UFC records he could possibly set and I’m sure he has a sh*t loads of money. I’d love to see him have one super fight with GSP or Jones and retire whilst on top. Also I think the MW divison needs to move on if Anderson fights for another 6 years in the UFC he wouldn’t be defending his title more then once a year (Some years he may defend it twice) which is not good enough as a champion.
I do truly enjoy watching Anderson fight. But to say that he will be on top for another 6 years straight? That is a huge goal to fulfil! He is an amazing fighter, and I think he is the pound for pound best on the planet. Is already 37 years old, and not everyone can be Randy Couture! I wish him the best in his career, and I will ALWAYS be rooting for him to win! WAR SPIDER!!”
he has nothing more to prove. 1 fight per year?
Was this said in a recent interview or was the from an interview like 2 years ago? Because I remember a couple years ago this exact statement was said by Anderson when asked if he was going to retire after he fought Sonnen (first fight).. Because there was rumors he was going to retire after the Sonnen fought because of his age but then laughed and said he could fight another 6 years.. But anyway back on subject if you are healthy and you aren’t losing a step why not keep doing something you love? Only time he actually ever looked bad was the Sonnen first fight but then proved what he is really capable of doing in the 2nd.. But I honestly feel he might walk away if he gets a superfight..
he eyes 6 more years of fighting, so anderson has 6 fights left in him
ran out of silva pics?
him and chael sonnen should take a picture like that together LOL
HE MIGHT BE THE BEST FIGTHER,I DONT LIKE IS ATTITUTE TOWARD OTHER FIGTHER HE AROGANT ,,,HE AS NO RECPECT FOR OTHER FIGTHER HE NOT MY CHAMPIONN ,,,,,GEORGE ST PIERRE IS A TRUE FIGTHER CAUSE HE AS THE RESPECT FROM OTHER FIGTHER WIN OR LOOSE ,,,ANDERSON SILVA MIGHT BE THE MOAST DANGEROUS GUY ON THE PLANET ,,,,,EVERBODY LOVE GEORGE CAUSE HE A KIND OF ROCKY IT CALL RESPECT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ALL CAPS RAGE !!!!! SPELL CHECK !!
Arrogant* Respect* Fighters* He’s* Because* (twice) Lose* Most* Everybody*. Also, “…cause he a kind of rocky call it respect”. Why?
+5000
This guy is french aha
George is totally an Italian stallion haha
Honestly, who gives a shit if he spelled anything wrong in that vent? Unless you’re passing out grades and this is really a university English course, not an MMA website, does it really matter?
I’ve heard this many times. And yes, it SHOULD always matter.
Six more years of fighting for Silva will be very entertaining. Probably a smarter idea than coaching, especially after his boys came to HI this weekend and went 0 – 3
I love watching Anderson find different ways of making the best fighters in the world look like idiots. He can fight as long as he wants to as far as I’m concerned.
ok seriously, they couldn’t find a different photo.
Good deal! Fedors goat thing could be in trouble.
Silva is arguably if not probably the GOAT! That being said I don’t think he could dominate for another 6 years like he has since entering the UFC. Maybe another 2-3 years tops!!! Father time will catch up to him sometime. He also should go out on top. I am not saying retire right now, but I hate it when MMA and Boxing champs stay too long and tarnish their legacy.
STFU you idiots. Silva is the best. He ****ing kicks ass. Why don’t you idiots fight him then.****in bullshitters, never fought in your lives **** ing keyboard warriors, **** ing grow some balls!! **** ers.
For all the idiots complaining about spelling and grammar GET THE FUKK OUTTA HERE!!!! this is a MMA site, not a site for fukking English majors u jack asses!
Yes only English majors care about people writing like they have a 8th grade education.
8th grade education is pretty high for a run and a two and a Ching Chong potatoes..
WHAT THE **** IS UP WITH THAT PICTURE??????????????????????
If Randy and Dan can do it, Silva can.
he’ll fight till he doesn’t know he can win anymore which is reasonable for a champ like him. He’s more than cleared his division so at this point we’ll be lucky to see him fight 2 times a year for these last 6 or less
Weiman has a chance, like to see him fight that guy and gsp and then to be honest there isn’t really any thing left for him to do, unless he fights Jones.
There’s nothing left for him to do? He set the
bar in so many things why wouldn’t he be able
to raise it in a few more? This article with this
pic is hear to raise debate. It’s almost insulting
to my intelligence to even respond. The rise and fall of a warrior to me is the nature of style
being exposed. Let’s see how he holds up
with his style as far as training, injurie, wrestlers analyzing him and componsating.
I’m ready for an American to take his belt
or him to learn to wrestle. Now theres something left for him to prove. Wrestle down
a wrestler and pound him out or submit him
from a top position.
