Aldo Could Earn Shot At Pettis With UFC 169 Win

“I agree with you (Aldo’s done everything at featherweight). It’s tough for him to make that weight. And it wouldn’t be a bad idea that when Pettis comes back, for him (Aldo) and Pettis to fight. We were going to do that fight once at Aldo’s weight, it might not be a bad idea for him, should he win this weekend, to possibly move up.”

During a recent appearance on FOX Sports Live, UFC President Dana White, discussed many topics, including the future of his UFC featherweight champion, Jose Aldo.

Think Aldo vs. Pettis at 155 makes sense?

Seen this coming from a mile away.. Pettis FTW!

  2. Pettis Sucks says:

Why would JOSE ALDO earn a shot at Pettis…??? Pettis has everything to prove …!!!

    • questionEverything says:

Because Aldo would be moving to Pettis’ weight class where Pettis is the champ, so technically its not wrong.

  3. magoo says:

He could….but! He’s gotta get past a guy everyone seems to be overlooking. Ricardo Lamas is a beast, with wicked GNP and cardio this ain’t gonna come easy!

    • Robert says:

I think Lamas is a great fighter, but he’s not on Aldo’s level, especially when he hasn’t fought in over a year. Aldo should KO him like Mendes then move up.

  4. Kenny Powers says:

It makes the most sense now cuz there’s really no clear cut contender at 155 for Pettis. Thomson lost (tho he should have won), TJ’s still out, Bendo’s not getting another shot, Diaz not getting another shot. The only real option is Gil, but if Aldo wins he should fight Pettis, then Gil can fight someone else for the next shot.

  5. b.one.z says:

Would a fight against Renan Barao be possible is he and Jose Aldo both win at UFC 169?

I think it would be a good fight. Both guys are riding long win streaks with only one loss on each of their records, both will have pretty much cleaned out their respective divisions with a win on Saturday, and both are only one weigh class apart.

I agree Aldo vs Pettis would be more awesome, but right now Pettis is recovering form an injury and has yet to even defend his Lightweight title. With that in mind, do you think a fight against Barao would be good in the meantime?
