Akiyama injured, Alves draws Siyar Bahadurzada
The UFC officially announced the fight card for its 149 event earlier this week and already slots are changing due to injury. Just as the fighter changing carousel makes another round, the injury bug has bit cage veteran Yoshihiro Akiyama. Akiyama is new to the welterweight division and will have to wait for another fight to pick up his first victory in the division due to an undisclosed set-back.
Akiyama’s opponent, Thiago Alves (19-9), will now set his sites and changes his training camp with knockout artist, Siyar Bahadurzada in the back of his mind.
Alves is coming off a tough loss to Martin Kampmann at UFC on FX 2 and is looking to bounce back against the phenomenal striker Bahadurzada.
Siyar Bahadurzada (21-4) is coming into the contest with a devastating knockout victory over veteran Paulo Thiago, in what was a very impressive UFC debut in Sweden.
The main event at UFC 149 hosts featherweight champion Jose Aldo, putting his title on the line against Erik Koch. The event is schedule for Calgary on July 21.

I’m excited to see Siyar’s next fight. His story post earlier last month was intriguing and I missed his last fight. This is going to be an awesome fight!
That story about him walking on dead bodies as a kid in the war was crazy! Scary dude, and a major threat in the WW division!
Siyar is going to knock alves out cold just like paulo
