Aaron Simpson is set to face Mike Pierce in his second bout at Welterweight. The news comes via MMAFighting.

Simpson had been campaigning in the UFC Middleweight division and had gone on a three fight winning streak following a loss to Mark Munoz. At UFC on Fuel TV: Sanchez vs. Ellenberger he faced huge Middleweight Ronny Markes and was defeated via a split-decision. Simpson found himself pinned up against the cage for the majority of the bout unable to move the larger man and utilize his wrestling skills which prompted the move to Welterweight. In his Welterweight debut he defeated Kenny Robertson via unanimous decision to improve his overall record to (12-3).

Mike Pierce in his last bout defeated the Brazilian Carlos Eduardo Rocha at UFC on FX: Johnson vs. McCall. Prior to that bout he faced top Welterweight contender Josh Koscheck at UFC 143 and lost via split-decision. Pierce is currently (14-5) overall and (6-3) in the UFC. His only defeats have come against top Welterweight contenders Jon Fitch, Josh Koscheck, Johnny Hendricks.

The bout is set to take place at UFC On FX 5 the event takes place on October 5th at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota and will be headlined by a heavyweight clash between Travis Browne and Antonio Silva.
