Jon Jones DWI Sentencing Delayed Again As Jones Asks For More Time To Complete Alcohol & Drug Abuse Programs | UFC News

UFC Light-Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones was back in front of the judge today in New York’s Binghamton City Court, the same place that saw the 24-year-old confess to driving while intoxicated (DWI) back in June.
Jones was granted another postponement in his sentencing after he requested more time to complete his drug and alcohol abuse program according to the Binghamton Press & Sun Bulletin, and will now have until July 31 to get his affairs in order.
According to the report Jones will likely face a “one-year conditional discharge as well as a fine of up to $1,500 and will be required to install ignition interlock devices in his vehicles, pay restitution for damage, undergo a substance dependency evaluation and attend a victim impact class.”
Jones was arrested May 26th in the early hours of the morning after crashing his Bentley into a pole and got hit with a pair of moving violations including “improper turn” and “deviating from a direct course.”
The 205-pound champion is required to complete an alcohol abuse and dependency assessment before sentencing, which he has yet to complete, but is still expected to defend his 205-pound strap against Dan Henderson at the UFC 151 pay-per-view (PPV) event from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Sept. 1.
This will only leave around one month between his fight and the sentencing.
