Dana White not ruling out the possibility of Herschel Walker joining the UFC | UFC News

The Strikeforce imports to the UFC have been impressive thus far, Robbie Lawler, Tyron Woodley, and the man challenging for the UFC welterweight championship Nick Diaz have all come over and notched quality wins. Today, another possible fighters name was brought up to bring to the octagon, former Heisman trophy winner, and NFL great Herschel Walker. Per a report by MMAmania.com, Dana White hasn’t ruled out the possibility of the former Georgia Bulldog from joining the heavyweight division of the UFC. In fact, the UFC president said he would talk to Walker and see what happens:

“I don’t know, I’ll have to talk to him. I haven’t talked to him. First of all, the athletic commission would have to approve that, know what I mean? I’ve never even thought about it, but I’m assuming he’s under contract with us from the Strikeforce deal, so, I don’t know.”

Walker is undefeated in his MMA career, (2-0) however his wins have come against less than stellar competition in the forms of Greg Nagy and Scott Carson; it would be interesting to see how he would fare against much stiffer tests inside the Octagon.

I don’t see why not. Looking over the Heavyweights on the UFC site it seems that they still have Dave Herman on contract. He comes off of suspension in April following a failed drug test and his third loss in a row. Might as well give a guy on the outs a paycheck while using Walker’s name to boost ticket and/or PPV sales. I would watch it. I like seeing old guys in amazing shape fight. I don’t know why. Hope for my own future? I dunno. But, I would watch it.
