Stephen Quadros, Leonard Garcia, Matt Mitrione & Evan Thompson Join BJPenn.Com Radio Tomorrow Night at 8pm EST
Tomorrow night on BJPenn.Com Radio hosts Bryan Levick and Mitch Ciccarelli will be joined by a great panel of guests who will discuss their upcoming fights and what is going on in the world of mixed martial arts.
Up first is the man they call The Fight Professor, Stephen Quadros. The California native has been calling combat sporting events all over the world for the past 15 years. He is the original host and play-by-play commentator for Pride having worked alongside Bas Rutten. He has also called fights for the IFL, Cage Rage, WEC, K-1 World Grand Prix, Rumble on the Rock and Strikeforce. Most recently he was hired to call the action for Glory World Series. Quadros is also an accomplished drummer having played for a few Los Angeles based rock bands.
Up next Leonard Garcia will call in to discuss his upcoming bout against Cody McKenzie at UFC 155 on December 29. The Greg Jackson trained featherweight is a fan favorite who has been part of many memorable and controversial fights. His war with Jung Chan-Sung at WEC 48 is considered one of the greatest fights in the organizations history and not only took home the Fight of the Night bonus, but it was named the 2010 Fight of the Year by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Stepping in on short notice to replace an injured Shane Carwin on Saturday night’s TUF 16 Finale against Roy Nelson will be Matt Mitrione. A former NFL defensive tackle, Mitrione played for the NY Giants and Minnesota Vikings. The 34-year-old Illinois native appeared on The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights season and has a 5-1 record with all of his fights coming inside the Octagon.
Evan Thompson will make his professional MMA debut on Friday night against Bobby Moore at Legacy Fighting Championships 16 in Allen, Texas. Thompson is the brother of UFC welterweight Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson and will be joined on the call by his brother and his dad Ray who serves as his head coach. The Thompson brothers train in Jiu-Jitsu under the tutelage of their brother-in-law Carlos Machado who was trained by Carlos Gracie Jr.
As always the show will start at 8pm EST/5pm PST
