"The Predator" Returns | Cote vs. Le Set For UFC 148 | UFC NEWS

The UFC 148/147 reshuffle is over.
With Vitor Belfort forced out of his scheduled appearance in Brazil with a broken hand, the UFC opted to pull Rich Franklin from his UFC 148 bout with Cung Le and place him opposite Wanderlei Silva in the UFC 147 main event.
That shift left Mr. Le without an opponent, at least for about 24-hours.
In comes former middleweight title challenger Patrick “The Predator” Cote”.
Cote was widely regarded as one of the world’s best middleweight fighters following a successful five-fight winning streak inside the UFC to earn himself a shot at Anderson Silva’s middleweight .
During a time where Anderson Silva was a man amongst mice, Cote managed to survive the first two frames of action and was somewhat competitive with the champ until he blew out his knee in the third round which resulted in the fight being halted.
Following a lengthy recovery process for the injured knee, Patrick returned only to drop his next two fights to Alan Belcher and Tom Lawlor.
After being forced onto the regional circuit following his three-fight skid in the UFC, he has now won his last four outings the most recent of which (two) ended in the first round.
UFC 148 is set to take place on July 7 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. In the main event Anderson Silva will attempt to defend his title in a rematch against the always controversial fan favorite, Chael Sonnen.

Cung’s going to light him up!
Been a Cote fan since TUF. Good to have him back.
I’m kind of disappointed in this shake up. Not really a fan of Cote and would have rather seen Franklin vs Cung Le.
cote is the man, i’d love to see him sharp and on point. this guy is very underrated
