UFC on Fuel TV 2 Medical Suspensions

By Ryan Busuttil:
There were only 2 fighters medically suspended from this past weekend’s UFC on Fuel TV 2 event.
Paulo Thiago and Alessio Sakara, both of whom were knocked out in their respective fights, have been suspended for 28 days according to the president of the Swedish MMA federation, George Sallfeldt.
UFC on Fuel TV 2 took place this past Saturday April 14th in Stockholm, Sweden and featured Alexander Gustafsson’s unanimous decision victory over Thiago Silva in the main event. Paulo Thiago suffered a 42 second knockout at the hands of debuting welterweight Siyar Bahadurzada, while Alessio Sakara was knocked out by Brian Stann in the first round.
In addition, Sallfeldt stated that UFC on Fuel TV 2 winner, James Head, will not be disciplined for his actions in his fight against Papy Abedi. After Head’s win by rear-naked choke, he shoved Abedi in order to get back to his feet. Fans complained about the shove after the fight, but Sallfeldt reported receiving no formal complaints about Head.
