UFC 145 Medical Suspensions Report | UFC NEWS

The Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission just released their post-fight medical suspensions report for last weekend’s UFC 145 event.
UFC 145 took place last Saturday from Atlanta, Georgia’s Phillips Arena. In the main event UFC light-heavyweight champion, Jon Jones successfully defended his title against former teammate and rival Rashad Evans.
All event participants received a suspension in some form, however most received the mandatory 7-day.
Receiving what will probably be the lengthiest suspension is preliminary card fighter Mac Danzig who suffered ankle damage in the very first round of his fight with Efrain Escudero.
The full list of medical suspensions is below:
Mac Danzig – Suspended indefinitely pending results of right-ankle X-ray
Miguel Torres – Suspended 60 days; needs CT scan
Che Mills – Suspended 45 days for precautionary reasons
Brendan Schaub – Suspended 45 days for precautionary reasons
Eddie Yagin – Suspended 30 days, including 21 days with no contact
Mark Hominick – Suspended 30 days, including 21 days with no contact
Chad Griggs – Suspended 30 days, including 21 days with no contact
Matt Brown – Suspended 14 days for precautionary reasons
Stephen Thompson – Suspended 14 days for precautionary reasons
Keith Wisniewski – Suspended 14 days for precautionary reasons
Jon Jones – Suspended seven days for precautionary reasons
Rashad Evans – Suspended seven days for precautionary reasons
Rory MacDonald – Suspended seven days for precautionary reasons
Ben Rothwell – Suspended seven days for precautionary reasons
Michael McDonald – Suspended seven days for precautionary reasons
Mark Bocek – Suspended seven days for precautionary reasons
John Alessio – Suspended seven days for precautionary reasons
Travis Browne – Suspended seven days for precautionary reasons
Anthony Njokuani – Suspended seven days for precautionary reasons
John Makdessi – Suspended seven days for precautionary reasons
Efrain Escudero – Suspended seven days for precautionary reasons
Chris Clements – Suspended seven days for precautionary reasons
Marcus Brimage – Suspended seven days for precautionary reasons
Maximo Blanco – Suspended seven days for precautionary reasons

What exactly is meant by precautionary reasons? Is that just a week lay off to prevent any further injuries, and to allow time to heal? If so why is it done like this because most fighters aren’t back in the octagon in a week or so. So are the suspensions neccessary? I’m just curious to how this all works.
yea, i think it involves them not jumping back into training as well.. might be wrong
