No worries Fans | Overeem will fight again in the UFC!

By Chase Raymond:

I know that most people are not giving Alistair Overeem a chance at being back in the UFC. I also know that Dana White is very upset about Overeem’s failed drug test. No worries folks, this is not the first fighter to fail a drug test and return to the UFC.

It was no surprise that Chael Sonnen decided to defend Overeem for failing his drug test, because he too served a suspension for a failed urinalysis. Chael did his time and now is back in one of the biggest fights of the year when he faces Anderson Silva in a rematch at UFC 148.

Dana White is upset now because he had to scramble to replace Alistair at the upcoming PPV at UFC 148. It may be a blessing in disguise and after he has time to cool down and see’s that everyone is just as excited for the Frank Mir vs. JDS Heavyweight Championship match, I’m sure Dana will have a change in heart.

This is not the first time, nor will it be the last time that a fighter fails a drug test for elevated testosterone levels. With a sport where every advantage counts, your going to have people trying new things and not knowing what they are taking.

To me, there is no doubt that Alistair will get another shot, in a division that is in need of a superstar like Overeem. When it’s all said and done, the UFC is about putting on great fights the fans want to see. If he passes future tests and gets his license back, there is no reason we will not see Alistair Overeem in the UFC again.

What do you think, have we seen the last of Alistair Overeem?

if Bonnar and Sonnen can get away wit it then Alistar should to

    • jc says:

who is more excited to see JDS v Mir rather that JDS overeem?

Thats right no one. this is a bad match up for mir

      • stewbot says:

Considering all of Mir’s losses have come by either KO or TKO and JDS has dynamite in his fists….totally a bad match up for Mir. I couldn’t agree more. But again, you never know. Mir has made improvements but I can’t see him winning this fight.

      • Zetoe R10 says:

I am. Overeem is the most overrated fighter ever.
absolute worst chin in MMA. Obviously good, not great striking.
dude had no chance against JDS.

Mir cant take a punch either, but he can submit JDS.

      • Shawn says:

Not as excited, but still a good alternative match up. Mir has been surprising lately, and MMA that’s part of the game. It’s an interesting match up. If one understands the fight game, and is educated in the nuances of fighting, one would appreciate this fight. Its not all about to guys wailing on each other until one goes down.

  2. danielrchargers says:

Enlighten me on this Bonner scene. what did he do?

  3. Xaninho says:

DW already said he wouldn’t cut him. He said he would not shove the NSAC decision aside and let Overeem apply for a license in another state or stuff like that. He said that Overeem wouldn’t fight for as long as he’s suspended or unlicensed.

He also said if he could do business with Tito, he can do business with Alistair.

  4. techno striker says:

Overeem is a juicer.I don’t care wether he fights in the ufc again or not.People who arn’t nutthuggers have known for years that he’s a juicer. His bs excuse is laughable. How can a (supposedly) world class fighter take an injection from his doctor without knowing full well what was in the injection.Overeem knew what he was doing because he’s been doing it for years only this time he got caught.

  5. DMAC says:

No we haven’t seen the last of reem in UFC! He did nothing different then your favorite fighter Anderson. Dana’s about paper if you haven’t noticed already, and reem puts asses in seats. Sorry haters!!

They even replaced reem with another juicer, oh wait you can stack on that much size is 3-6 months according to some members on this site. Really showing their lack of experience in high level training.

  6. Eric El Bestia says:

Good. Dana ain’t dumb to kick out a guy like Overeem. Overeem should learn from this mistake or maybe mistakes of not been adequate clean for a fight. Overeem is great tho, just his cardio is not all that but, he good fighter.

  7. Jimmy Fingerz says:

We want and need the reem, bring him back asap Dana, and give him to Jon Jones since he said he’d fight anyone even if there on the roids

  8. T.Daddy says:

Everyone is just as excited for Mir vs. JDS..lmao! No fukkn way man… Reem vs. JDS is what we want… Mir is gonna lose by ko in rd 1

    • jbeamazing says:

overreem has a worse chin then mir that would of ended in the 1 rd too brah

      • Xaninho says:

        Let’s see :

        Mir: 21 fights- 5 (T)KO losses = 23.8% losses by (T)KO
        Overeem: 46 fights- 6(T)KO losses= 13% losses by (T)KO

I’m not Einstein and I’m pretty sure you’re far from an Einstein, but even you can see the percentages speak in Overeem’s advantage.

People should stop saying stupid shit without knowing what they’re talking about….

    • Semtex says:

Exactly! Who the fuck is excited for this match? 1 round KO. We all know it

  9. Dmac you need to wake the fuck up.Reem was juicing at 205 in Japan.Reem and Mirs situation is totally different.Reem was getting battered by average guys at 205 then all of a sudden he puts mass on and becomes a destroyer at Heavyweight. As much as i hate Mir he’s always been a contender at heavyweight.Mir piled on mass and what happened?he got decimated by Carwin only just managed to ko an over the hill cro-cop.Was involved in that boring fight against Nelson and got lucky Nog decided to go for a sub instead of the tko.So don’t compare Reems weight gain and success to Mirs because they are not the same. But if you refuse to face reality then who am i to stop you.I’m bored schooling you now have a nice life.:)

    • DMAC says:

Seriously man if your gonna talk shit make it easy on the eyes. And what’s your point exactly? And how are you schooling me with shit everyone knows? Your attempt at trolling was a fail kid, I’ll give you another try though! Shoot!

    • jbeamazing says:

nobody taps big nog by luck brah

      • Semtex says:

The sub wasn’t a luck and that is NOT what he said. Mir was lucky Nog didn’t continue to punch him in the face till the ref stops it or he goes back into deeper unconsciousness (Herb himself said Mir went out and then came back again). Instead he went for a sub, rolled and the rest is history.

    • Xaninho says:

funny you guys always count from the 205 to 265. You don’t seem to realize he walked around at 230 and it took him 5 years before he got to where he is now, gaining 30-35 lbs. in 5 years isn’t that much.

    • rajun says:

u ppl r nuts so sick of hearing about omg he has 6 losses, the dude was fighting 6 or more fights a years to jds’s only 1 maybe 2.when u really fight u have more of a chance to lose.losses dont make the fighter its the wins u get

  10. Jimmy Fingerz says:

get him techno striker…. lol some of these dudes need schooled, just look at the pics of reem before and after and then look at mir before and after, its a huge difference in the two’s muscle gain

    • Xaninho says:

Difference is Overeem gained 35 lbs. in 5 years and Mir in 6 months…what’s your point?

      • Niek says:

        Owh snap.
I don’t get it, people keep cumming up with good arguments. Yours completely can’t be ignored since it’s 1 sentence and that seems to work better for some of these folks.

  11. jbeamazing says:

No worries guys when the juice wheres off overeem vs bj penn will happen at light weight

  12. Nick says:

The title is misleading. There’s no proof that he will be back. It’s this guys opinion based on Dana’s past. Can you guys get some better guys to do the articles. The title should say “Overeem shouldn’t have a problem fighting in the UFC again” or something along that lines. Saying “he will” is a bold statement without any supporting sources. I understand it’s used to grab readers attention but just a heads up. I thought there was a viable source.

  13. Rodrigo says:

No one is excited about Mir x JDS.

  14. WarProdigy says:

I’m not interested in seeing him compete in any league unless he can consistently prove that he’s clean for the rest if his career. He’s a cheater, everything he’s ever accomplished means nothing now. Every can have a 2nd chance if they really want it. It’s up to The Reem how he wants to go down in history. I for one, am very disappointed in him.

  15. Dan C says:

Lol you guys are talking like nobody else in the UFC is on steroids…The truth is 95% of UFC fighters are currently on steroids or have used them during their career. It. Is only the select few that have been randomly tested that become the black sheeps of the organization.

  16. A.James says:

I’m excited. Mir is going to get blasted!

  17. Chad Raymond says:

I dont care to see any fighter that fails a drug test. Once a juicer always a juicer. He’ll always be labled a cheeter as far as im concerned. I hope he never gets to fight again in the UFCa. Dana white has every right to be pissed.

  18. I LIKE HOW PEOPLE COME UP WITH ALL THESE EXCUSES OF WHY A FIGHTER WINS A MATCH. YOU SOUND JUST LIKE FIGHTERS THAT SAY THEY LOST BECAUSE THEIR TUMMY HURTED THEM :-( ALL THESE NON ATHLETES AND THEIR OPINIONS CRACK ME UP. I’M JUST AS EXCITED ABOUT MIR DOS SANTOS ACTUALLY MORE EXCITED. HATE MIR ALL YOU WANT AND MAYBE HE WINS AND MAYBE HE LOSES BUT EITHER WAY HE HAS EARNED IT. FRANK MIR IS A HUGE REASON THE UFC IS WHERE IT IS TODAY. HE WAS ONE OF THE FIRST FIGHTERS THAT OTHER FIGHTERS HOPING NOT TO HAVE TO FACE HIM IF YOU DO SOME RESEARCH ON HIM YOU WILL SEE THAT. GIVE PROPS WHERE THEY ARE DESERVED.
