UFC President | Jon Jones Needs A Lot Of Guidance | UFC NEWS

“I’m not involved in all the legal stuff that’s going on with Jones but yeah, he flew out a few nights ago and sat down with me and Lorenzo and talked. I like Jon Jones. He’s a good guy, he’s a young kid. He made a mistake that night and we’ll see what happens. … I think we’ve supported Jon. He’s a young kid and he’s going to need a lot of guidance. The kid is incredibly talented, he’s starting to make tons of money and he’s getting really famous. Those are all the recipes for disaster.”

During this past Saturday’s UFC 146 post-fight media scrum UFC president Dana White commented on the legal situation of his 205 pound champ Jon Jones.

  1. Zack says:

I just don’t think jones has a true love for the sport. Which makes me think he’s only in it for the money and fame. We will see tho. His DUI was lesson number 1. Give him the spider so he can receive lesson number 2.

  2. Drew says:

Jon jones loves the sport the kids ****ing 23 or 24 lw champ in the UFC and has beaten the best and people already want a super fight between him and Anderson, but ya he doesn’t love the sport.

  3. BJJ Justin says:

JBJ is like his brothers, found a sport he loves and is good enough to be a champ at. Hopefully this wreck and DUI has made him realize that he is in fact a normal person that everyday shit happens to. Maybe next time he won’t get a big head like most semi-famous/famous people get and think they are above everything. He has a family to think about, not just himself.

  4. Rashad Evans says:

I remember when I was his age, if I was that famous I’d be one cocky mofo too! Getting all this money, bitches, and I’m the lhw champ of the world? Cmonnnn give this kid a break. He’s young, it’ll take time. Let’s hope he don’t fall off

  5. Michael hamlin says:

    Do your thing jones!!!

  6. Paul Harris says:

Move to heavy weight. Stop beating up all the little ones in lhw. HW has lots of fighters that have 80 in plus reach. Stop fighting the small guys

    • I agree but i dont just Blame Jones for beating all those fighters someone needs to just get in there and hit the guy in the body! or anywhere stop looking at him like hes God and fight him!

  7. Damnu says:

Agree with Harris fight in your weight class an test yourself for real all the lhw are incredibly smaller than jones which means he should be dominate! But for the DUI talk it’ll blow over shit happens. He’s got about three to four more fights he can milk in the lhw class an he’ll go up

  8. ibnirish1 says:

If JBJ was 6-4 in the UFC would he be booted after this DUI? I think if he keeps winning he can do just about anything and the UFC would continue to sweep it under the rug. If it was JBJ who got busted for weed instead of Diaz I wonder how that would have played out? Its clear the UFC has decided that Jones is the new face of their sport and with his skills I can see why, but don’t be shocked if the bad decisions continue after this story fades. I mean JBJ getting a DUI is nothing like the average guy when the fine and drivers suspension really hurts normal life and makes you think twice.
