Thiago Tavares vs. Dennis Hallman set for UFC 150!

By Chase Raymond:
A sure treat for fight fans has been added to UFC 150 with the announcement of Dennis Hallman (51-14-2 MMA, 4-5 UFC) vs. Thiago Tavares (17-4-1 MMA, 7-4-1 UFC).
The 36-year-old Hallman seems to have had career resurgence with an 8-2 record over the last five and a half years. One of Hallman’s greatest achievements in his career is his two victories (both by submission in a combined 38 seconds) against UFC Hall of Famer, and former welterweight champion Matt Hughes. Hallman most recently was seen at UFC 140 where he quickly submitted John Makdessi at the Canadian PPV.
The three-time UFC “Fight of the night” award winner Thiago Tavares is coming off of two huge wins over Sam Stout and Spencer Fisher. Tavares won nine of his first ten fights via submission, but since joining the UFC in 2007 he has mostly won via decision or KO.
Thought of as the future of the lightweight division, Tavares will have his hands full when he faces the always-dangerous Dennis Hallman. Will Hallman continue his ride back to the top of the division, or will Tavares’ youth and athleticism put him one step closer to the top of the stacked lightweight division?
