Strikeforce is back on Showtime this evening with the conclusions of the Heavy Weight Grand Prix.
In the main event finalists Josh Barnett and Daniel Cormier will battle it out for the Strikeforce Grand Prix title and a chance to cement themselves as one of the top heavyweights in the game.
In the co-featured bout top lightweight Gilbert Melendez will attempt to defend his Strikeforce title against former champion, Josh Thomson.

Looked like feijao hit Kyle in the back of the head about 10 times.
i ****in hate to say it. but i honestly think thomson won. damn. melendez best round was 2. then the momentum began to shift when thomson began to turn it up. i actually thought thomson had moments to finish gilbert on the feet in the 5th.

Also a lame excuse of he broke his hand was the first thing out of his mouth! His excuse should have been he wasn’t on roids (or maybe i spoke too soon)!
DC broke his hand too but didn’t cry about it in the post fight interview!
Great five rounder in Melendez vs. Thompson – decision could’ve gone either way. I thought Thompson showed a lot of class in defeat and I hope he gets another title shot soon.
