Cain Velasquez Thinks Bigfoot Poses More Threats Than Mir

By Jamie McAllister
Cain Velasquez in an interview with TATAME.

Velasquez makes the comparison between Bigfoot Silva & Frank Mir.

“They’re similar a little bit, but I think Silva is better all around. He does more kicks than Mir does, he uses his hands on his feet, good Jiu-Jitsu on the ground. I think Silva is more of a control guy on the ground, so he’s good all around.”

“He does everything good. He does kicks, punches, knees, on the ground he’s good… I fought big guys. I fought big guys good on the stand-up, I fought big guys who are good wrestlers and on the ground, but a guy who has a combination of all of that, I never seen before.”

Silva is coming off a loss to Daniel Cormier, Velasquez’s training partner. However Velasquez does not feel like this gives him an advantage.

“It was so quick. I can’t really judge from that. I’m expecting a different kind of fighter this Saturday”

yeah, this might as well be the bigfoot vs cormier rematch, as i see the exact same thing happening.

  2. Big Show says:

I think Cain is right, Big Foot is more dangerous than Francisco Santos Miranda alias Frank Mir

  3. Mike says:

Silva Thrashed Fedor, I’d respect him too. To not do so would be tactically poor.

  4. andy says:

Only reason Cain said this is because Bigfoot Silva is a terminally ill child and he asked the Make A Wish foundation to get Cain to suggest he felt he was a threat. Hats off to Cain for being a stand up guy.

  5. Bjj BB says:
