Carlos Condit Wants To Fight Martin Kampmann If St Pierre Is Not Ready By November | UFC News

UFC Interim Welterweight Champion Carlos Condit in an interview with HDNet’s “Inside MMA,”
“The Natural Born Killer” has expressed his desire to play it safe and wait for the bout with Georges St Pierre when he returns however it seems Condit may now have had a change of heart.
Condit discusses his plans for the future as well as considering the idea of taking another fight while he waits for St Pierre to return.
“If it turns out Georges can’t fight in November, most likely, I will fight somebody else. I really wanna fight Georges. I really wanna unify the belts, but there’s also some other guys that I would like to fight as well. You know, Martin Kampmann’s the only guy that I’ve lost to in the UFC, the only guy I’ve lost to in about the last six years, so I would definitely like to avenge that loss.”
The Condit vs. Kampmann rematch makes a lot of sense after Kampmann’s impressive come back victory over Jake Ellenberger this past weekend finishing the fight in impressive fashion.
The fight may not be in the works yet but the longer Georges St Pierre is out of action the more likely this fight could become.

I say Kampman wins that fight….but how come he’s not mentioning Hendricks? No fight is easy for him at this point so he should be open to everybody. I understand avenging a loss but I prefer wanting to be considered the best.

Think lots of guys forget Condit is a beast and a lethal finisher ! He was smart in the Diaz fight and stuck to a game plan but vs. Kampmann he will knock him out !
You’re right he had a good gameplan and you can argue that Diaz wasn’t smart enough to adapt his gameplan to Condits. But what we do know is that Condit is a liar. I hate liars. He lied to Diaz about fighting straight up and ran like a bitch. Some see that smart, I see it as a conniving little bitch. I don’t see Kampmann losing to this guy, He is a better striker and a better grappler. Condits character is questionable and that makes a person weaker….
I just think loads of guys like to forget how good Condit really is you hear guys describing him as a point fighter now I mean c’mon really the guy has finished 3 of his last four by knockout and one was a ****ing flying knee you know.
Also I think Kampmann is a warrior but I also think he’s been very very lucky not to be 0-2 in his past two fights.

If he’s so confident that he’s the best he should be willing to fight knowing he won’t lose the title shot. If he loses then he doesn’t deserve it anyhow.
He got screwed multiple times by the UFC. He beats up your newest fan boy nick diaz, and people still talk shit. These same shit talkers want him to “defend his fake belt” but probably don’t realize he should have had his shot for the belt, long over-due.
Long story short: you don’t let a company pull you out of a title fight, that doesn’t even end up happening midway through camp and go and make them money. Let him try and earn his belt.
I also think a guy like Paul Daley could do real good vs Kampmann again or Condit …… But first he needs to get back in the UFC and then past all the wrestlers which is never easy
I love the “natural born killer” but if he waits any longer Mr. Diaz will be post wrist slap and they can rematch so we can see the fight I believe everyone wants to see in GSP vs Diaz. If Mr. Condit keeps winning and doing his thing then good for him and the division with one more top contender in the mix. I have Ohana in Albuquerque and love the city and believe the build strong people. Mr. Condit is a warrior and I wouldn’t count him out against anyone. I don’t look at Ali any different for the rope-a-dope so I give him a slide on the Diaz fight because he did what he had to do to win, but I was a little angry being from central cali “NO” and seeing the Stockton boy lose in that way when the “natural born killer” was ruthless and devastating before that fight and out classed a great boxer. I would give him his revenge loss against Mr. Kampman and let us see what he does in the next year or so and the cards will fall where they may. Either way this division is one of my favorties, ALWAYS!!! WAR BJ WAR!!!

How did Jackson ruin his fan base? Is this because of the Diaz decision? Cuz if you’re pissed Diaz lost, I won’t argue. But if you’re pissed Condit won by decision and he’s now labeled a safe fighter, then I call bullshit. Having finished everyone of his wins save for two people, Condit is the furthest thing from a safe fighter. I’m only talking about it like this cuz it seems people think everyone at Jackson’s is a safe fighter now when it’s really only GSP. Cerrone usually finishs fights, bones finishes fights, condit sure as hell finishes fights, and most everyone else does at Jackson’s save for GSP. If i’m way off track then this rant is pointless. I am curious to know which rounds you gave to Condit in the Condit – Kampmann fight. Fightmetric called it a draw, but I gave it to Kampmann by a hair. I gave Kampmann rounds 1 & 3. Condit needed to stuff some of those take – downs, even if he was effective from his guard, as he always is.

I do understand him though, he doesn’t want to waste the opportunity after he got ****ed over once already. Plus he saw what happened with Pettis. Pettis didn’t wait for his titlematch and got lay n prayed out of the number one spot by Guida, very disappointing fight by the way.
