UFC on FOX 8 Fight Night Bonus Winners: Johnson, Guillard, Herman & Smith All Claim $50K For Their Performances in Seattle

| Tonight the UFC went to Seattle, Washington and put on an amazing show. The night was filled with explosive battles and a couple technical wars that would have driven most judges crazy. There were a couple of KOs and a couple of submissions but the curious thing that stood out to me was the amount of split-decisions throughout the night…definitely a sign of the competition level rising as the sport continues to evolve.

UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson successfully defended his title in the main event as he put on a show for the fans. Johnson outworked John Moraga through five rounds of work before latching on to a slick arm-bar and submitting the challenger to retain his gold. He’s now 4-0 in the UFC flyweight division and is now looking to defend his belt for a third straight time after tonight.

We also saw Rory MacDonald out-point Jake Ellenberger, Liz Carmouche finished Jessica Andrade by TKO, and Robbie Lawler  knocked-out Bobby Voelker with a nasty head kick. Melvin Guillard also impressively knocked-out Mac Danzig on the preliminary card. It was an exciting, explosive night of fights and the UFC will award the night’s most impressive performers with Fight Night Bonuses.

Here are the Fight Night Bonus Winners from UFC on FOX 8: Johnson vs. Moraga in Seattle, Washington:

Demetrious Johnson wins Submission of the Night with his impressive arm-bar finish in the fifth round over John Moraga

Melvin Guillard wins Knock-Out of the Night for his KO of Mac Danzig

Ed Herman and Trevor Smith won Fight of the Night for their amazing, closely-contested middleweight scrap.

  1. Omen says:

Liz won by tko. Not submission. A couple of errors on this report.

  2. digitalsupe says:

Lawler should have got ko of the night. Much cleaner and more technical of a ko. Plus no illegal shots to the back of the head.

  3. Ddddddddd says:

Melvin’s ko was nasty. Johnsons’ sub was unexpected and sweet. Good fight of the night. Do these guys get fined for running out of the ring like a spoiled funkin brat?? I’m getting burned out on that sh!t. That’s got to be the most disrespectful thing you can do. Stand there,,while they pan the view with the winners armed raised and yours down to your side with a look of failure on your face. It sucks you lost but it sucks worse that you have no respect.
