Breaking: Condit Draws Hendricks, Ellenberger vs. Woodley In The Works For UFC 158 | UFC NEWS

After the news of canadian welterweight, Rory MacDonald pulling out of his UFC 158 bout with Carlos Condit earlier today, Johny Hendricks was named the replacement. Hendricks was previously scheduled to face Jake Ellenberger also at UFC 158, but Ellenberger will now fight a new opponent, likely to be Tyron Woodley.
According to MMAJunkie.com, Dana White said that Strikeforce welterweight champion, Tarec Saffeidine turned down the offer to fight Carlos Condit on under one month’s notice. Saffeidine is coming off a decision victory over Nate Marquardt January 12 in the main event of Strikeforce’s final card.
Jake Ellenberger may in fact be opposite Tyron Woodley come March 16 which would make a great matchup. Woodley coming off an impressive first round knockout over Jay Hieron at UFC 156. Nathan Marquardt has also voiced interest in taking the Ellenberger fight.
UFC 158 was referred to by White as a “welterweight tournament” previously. Woodley had voiced interest to be a replacement on this card before one was even needed, and may have his wish granted if he gets Ellenberger
UFC 158 takes place March 16 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The main event of the welterweight heavy card will be UFC welterweight champion, Georges St. Pierre defending his belt against Nick Diaz.

yes!
Still shitty about Pimples pulling out like that again.. they better fight soon, I really wanted to see if he could top Condit completely this time round. Oh well, still an amazing card to watch.
George St Pierre vs Johny Hendricks, Nick Diaz vs Demian Maia, Carlos Condit vs Jake Ellenburger 2 & Rory Mcdonald vs Tyrone Woodley… need to happen
like it
Damien Maia vs Diaz would be awesome. Diaz would be scared of Maia’s bjj though.
Jake Ellenberger isn’t fighting Woodley, he’s fighting Nate Marquardt. I personally think that is a better fight than Woodley, but a fight with Woodley still would have been great!
I’m gutted about Rory getting injured because that would have been an awesome fight but Hendricks and Condit is also good. I think Condit will have too much for him in the striking game, although who knows because Hendricks keeps surprising me and he has a sledge hammer for a fist.
I personally think it could be like GSP Condit with more dirty boxing and wild exchanges with Hendricks possibly getting KO’ed or KOing Condit; but thats just my opinion.
